Wide, heavy, fabulous, 100% cotton yardage.
This is super fun . . . I found a lovely old, vintage, mid-century tablecloth and had the weave copied. The fabric is 275 GSM (8.11 oz / yard) which is basically equivalent to a medium weight canvas. However, the yarn is thinner and the weave is tighter, which makes for a smoother finish than a regular canvas but still with a lovely texture and a good bit of heft. Perfect for anything from napkins to aprons to curtains to pillows to tablecloths to bags to skirts!
Plain weave, useable width 62”
"Hedgerose" CottonYardage
Like all cotton, you should expect shrinkage after your first wash so be sure to pre-wash before tackling your project. After washing on warm and tumble drying, 1 yard of fabric will be roughly 61.5" wide x 33.5" long.
To combat wrinkling (particularly around the edges) you can use fabric softener in the wash or dryer sheets in the dryer, as well as pulling out of the dryer while still damp and giving it a good shake. And of course, there's always the option of ironing on a cotton setting.
